The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Standards Association (IEEE SA)defines Architecture as “the fundamental organization of a system, embodied in its components, their relationships to each other and the environment, and the principles governing its design and evolution.” Enterprise Architecture within the State of Vermont looks at this across the entirety of the Branches, Agencies, and Departments within the State IT Organizations in an effort to leverage economies of scale to reduce cost and increase efficiency.

Why do I need Enterprise Architecture?

Enterprise Architects provide a macro view of the IT landscape within the State of Vermont unavailable to individual organizations within State Government. It helps to understand the current state of technology within the state and a means to direct larger strategies to mature technology within the state.
